Scholarships to study in Canada

Canadian Government and institutions offer some financial aid to international students coming to study in Canadian institutions. However, these scholarships do not cover the entire amount of study cost.
Canadian Government Scholarships are:
  • Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships
  • Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s Program
  • IDRC Research Awards
  • NSERC Postgraduate scholarships
  • Organization of American States (OAS) Academic Scholarship Program
  • Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program
Non-governmental scholarships to study in Canada are:
  • Anne Vallee Ecological Fund
  • Canadian Rhodes Scholars Foundation Scholarships
  • Trudeau Scholarships and Fellowships

UBC International Leader of Tomorrow Award
The International Leader of Tomorrow Award recognizes international undergraduate students who demonstrate superior academic achievement, leadership skills, involvement in student affairs and community service, recognized achievement in fields of endeavour such as the performing arts, sports, debating or creative writing, or external academic competitions and examinations. International Leader of Tomorrow Award-winners receive an award-level commensurate with their financial need as determined by the costs of their tuition, fees and living costs, minus the financial contribution the student and their family can make annually towards these costs.

Pierre Elliot Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships
The scholarships are open to foreign nationals (with a preference for candidates from the developing world) who are applying to a doctoral program in the social sciences and humanities or registered full-time in the first or second year of such a program at a Canadian university.  Its annual value is up to $60,000 per scholar for a maximum of three years.

Humber International Entrance Scholarships
Humber offers full and partial renewable tuition scholarships for NEW international undergraduate students beginning classes in September 2015. 2 Full tuition scholarships and 2 $5,000 are available in September 2015.  The scholarships will be applied toward the successful students’ tuition fees.
Renewal of the scholarship will be based on the student’s ability to maintain a 75% GPA in each year of his/her program at Humber.

Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship is funded by Government of Canada
Each year, up to 14 remarkable young leaders are invited to come to Montreal for the academic calendar year. They live together in a beautifully restored mansion, enjoy  access to McGill University’s academic programs and other resources – including lectures, conferences and events suited to the advancement of their individual professional and intellectual goals – while benefiting from the communal life and multi-faceted exchanges with their fellow Scholars.
